Art of the Loom: Foundation Workshops in Weaving 2017
Art of the Loom workshops are designed to explore the art and craft of weaving with an emphasis on materials and processes unique to this richly tactile medium.
Art of the Loom workshops are taught by artist and educator Cameron Taylor-Brown on 4 shaft floor looms in a fully equipped textile studio. Class size is limited to 5 students to allow for individualized instruction.
Introduction to Weaving
Learn the fundamentals of weaving as you set up a floor loom, experiment with yarns and basic weaves, and make a scarf, table runner, or wall hanging. All materials and use of looms included. 10AM-5PM. This was offered on February 4-5 and April 29-30. August 26-27 is now sold out. Contact Cameron here if you'd like to be put onto a wait list.
Supervised Open Studio is for students who have completed Introduction to Weaving. The goal of Open Studio is for you to become an independent and confident new weaver by reinforcing the skills learned in the introductory class. You will set up your own loom and weave a small project - and Cameron will be on hand should you get stuck! A one day session includes all materials and use of a loom and is $75. Open Studio is 10AM-5PM and is scheduled by appointment. Contact Cameron here to arrange an Open Studio session.
Elements of Weaving: Texture, Color, Fiber and Pattern
